 Automatic modal analysis with OROS Modal 2

Modal analysis is often seen as a complicated method, time consuming and reserved to experts. Now imagine how to make modal analysis measurements suitable to everyone. Two critical steps require human expertise: determining the model order and making the difference between mathematical and physical modes. The ideal method should:
- identify all the modes in a full frequency band at once
- determine clearly high system orders
- provide very clear stability diagram
- have expert knowledge to properly select physical modes regarding symbols on the stability diagram. These symbols represent similarity in frequency, damping ratio and mode vector between poles from different model orders. Imagination becomes reality with OROS Modal 2 V4. Acoustics 08, Paris, June 29-July 4

Acoustical Society of America, ASA, the European Acoustics Association, EAA, and the Société Française d’Acoustique, SFA, organize Acoustics 08 Paris. Ecua, the European Conference on Underwater Acoustics, and Euronoise, the European Conference on Noise Control, have been integrated into this event.
This meeting will bring together experts in all fields of acoustics from around the world. In addition, the conference will be highlighted by a large exhibition covering all areas of Acoustics.

NEW! IRIG Markers Decoded by NVGate, OROS Software Platform

The IRIG-B time codes, commonly used in government, military and commercial fields for time synchronization of data gathered from widely separated geographical locations can now be decoded from your NVGate software!
Indeed, OROS has recently developed an application allowing the user to put markers with IRIG time stamps on any signal file as long as they include an IRIG track from which the actual date can be computed. SPAIN – N&V Analysis Training Featuring OROS 3-Series Analyzers

Beginning of March, Alava Ingenieros, the OROS distributor in Spain, inaugurated the first edition of Experimental Modal Analysis Training in Bilbao with great success. The second edition is already planned for the beginning of May in Madrid (online registration is open).
The 3-day seminar was organized as a brief introduction to the theoretical concepts related to vibration measement (natural frequency, FRF, MDOF, acquisition…). Several tests featured OROS 3-Series analyzers with impressive results. "At Alava, we think that this is one of the best ways to promote analyzers. We give our customers more knowledge and, besides, we show them the capabilities of our systems. This special event enhanced OROS' standing as a key WÄRTSILÄ value-added supplier, and officially launched a worldwide cooperation between both companies.

A new 32-channel OR38 analyzer was recently delivered to the Rotating Equipment group of BASF in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The analyzer will be used for vibration diagnostics of the numerous machineries located on the chemical platform such as gas turbines, compressors, gear boxes or fans. BASF has been using OROS analyzers for many years and appreciates their ease of use, portability, and ruggedness required by the harsh operating environment. The 32-channel instrument will greatly improve greatly testing efficiency in a world where it is key to acquire all channels simultaneously, reducing the number of machine stops and run-ups.
