The ODS Solution is part of the family of Solutions proposed by OROS for Structural Testing applications. ODS, standing for Operating Deflection Shapes, is used for visualizing the vibration deflection shapes of mechanical components typically during their standard operation.

It can also be used for simply determining the vibration pattern of such structures in a laboratory environment prior to a more advanced study: for example a full Modal Analysis. So, determining deflection shapes based on the ODS is a common practice in Automotive and Aerospace R&D. Furthermore, ODS is a practical technique especially when excitation forces are not measured, which often occurs when dealing with rotating machinery. This makes ODS a complementary tool to OROS fault diagnosis Solutions such as Sound Intensity.

The ODS Solution is a full package starting with a full set of practical tools for structural data acquisition based on impact hammer or shaker set-ups. Cross spectra or FRFs can be determined on up to 32 channels based on OROS Analyzers.

Going through a user friendly wizard, the ODS can be rapidly animated and reported in active reports thanks to the Reporter Solution. Active reports make the results available to a whole working group in the most efficient way.
