NVGate V12.10 main features

Properties management

New key features are now available which allow a smooth experience

Properties are a great feature of the Teamwork platform which allow users to associate contextual information to their measurement data and setups (properties are applied when saving a project, a setup or a measurement). Without such a tool, the natural tendency would be to insert this information in the titles of the measurements making the users life difficult when it is time to sort and find relevant data. New key features are now available in the Properties Manager of NVGate 12.10 which allow a smooth experience of the Dataset Management.

From recording setup to post analysis

Post-analyze a signal by using the one used during the recording

After recording a signal and computing some results with the NVGate plug-ins (FFT, SOA, OCT) you may need to post-analyze the recorded signal to change a few analysis settings or compute additional results using the same plug-ins. With NVGate 12.10, it is now possible to post-analyze a signal by directly using the same setup as the one used during the recording. If required, modifications to the setup can be completed in an additional step.

Applying a marker in multi-graph windows

To create a marker (free, harmonics, maximum, peaks, kinematics, etc.) in multi-graph windows, users now have two options:

  • Select the marker type you want to create and double click on one graph of the window. The marker will be applied only to this graph.
  • Select the marker type you want to create then hold Shift + double click on one graph of the window, the marker will be applied to all graphs of the window. Applying markers to each graph at once.

Additional user tools

OROS provides additional user tools, also called add-ons, with this latest release of NVGate.

TachTool

Create a tachometer reference by tracing an order line in a colormap

In a complex environment, it’s not always possible to setup a tachometer. However, analyzing a dynamic signal with RPMs as the reference is always efficient. Therefore, the goal of the Tachtool tool is to extract a tacho signal from dynamic sensors such as accelerometers or microphones. In this example, we have a waterfall of acceleration spectrums with time as our reference. At the end, we obtain a waterfall containing acceleration spectrums with RPM as our reference. This tool simplifies analysis of orders and resonant frequencies.

Batch Post Processing

Batch process multiple signals and calculations

Thanks to sequences, macros and automatic reports, NVGate is flexible and can be fully automated for measurement campaigns. In the same way, the additional batch post-processing tool allows users to automate their post analysis campaigns. Users will be able to calculate a set of results for an entire measurement campaign. In the example below, we carried out 8 run-ups and 8 run-downs for each, then calculated FFTs, RMS values and overall profiles.

Edit DOFs

Erroneous data and direction on an FRF node are common issues when completing ODS or modal analysis by analyzing FRFs. With NVGate V12.00, it is now possible to edit and correct the nodes and directions of an existing measurement.

Rosette Global Stress Calculation

Compute 2D main stress/strain values from rosette measurements with NVGate V12.00

A strain gauge rosette is a term for an arrangement of three strain gauges that are positioned closely together in order to measure strains along different directions in the component under test. Use of multiple strain gauges enables global stress amplitude and phase to be determined. The rosette add-on calculates this global stress from a rosette measurement.

Edit Signal Tool

Many unforeseen events may occur during a measurement. Measuring an electrical or acoustic disturbance is common and can make analysis difficult. The additional Edit Signal tool allows the user to remove disturbing noise from signals. The user has two choices: Cut the signal or set the amplitude to zero.

More user tools

RT60 computation

Automatically compute RT60 using T20 or T30 methods from a 1/3rd octave colormap/waterfall. Option to manually adjust the regression line for the reverberation time computation.

CAN bus: Import .dbc files

Import a selection of parameters contained in CAN bus .dbc file to NVGate’s ASB

User-defined number of decimal digits

The resolution of OROS instrumentation is high and therefore data may be more accurate than the number of decimal places displayed by default for some transducers (ex: temperature).

It is now possible to adjust the number of decimal digits displayed on each unit. These adjustments are saved in the User Preferences and are permanently applied for that user.

Improvements in performances

New functions

  • Calibration module: last memorized calibrator reference and visible measured level
  • Scaling all graphs at once in multi-graph windows
  • Database of generic roller bearing kinematic markers
  • Increase in the number of layouts in RAM memory
  • Window color can be edited by a macro

Performance improvements

  • Setup with large channel count. Faster startup, setup loading and measurement saving
  • Import and export filters (ATFX, UFF) improvements
  • Python toolkit compatibility for V3.7
  • Prevents PC entering automatic sleep mode while connected to an analyzer

Stability

  • Signal file synchronization secured in cascaded mode
  • Dramatic improvement in software stability
  • Torsional improvements
  • Overload indicators match selected range peaks within any range
